Jody grew up in the small Texas town of Pottsboro before going off to school at Baylor.   He began his cheerleading career there, and went on to become captain and Collegiate All-American.  (He also performed in the now-infamous "Copa Cabana" routine.)   He taught cheer for several summers and was part of the group that created/performed in the opening ceremonies of the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.  After college, he was the original owner and co-founder (with Angela) of Cheer Athletics in 1994.   He created the name, the logo, and the colors - sort of. (He originally wanted columbia blue instead of royal, but was thankfully talked out of it.)  Jody has won numerous NCA national titles as an athlete, coach, and choreographer.  Jody now sits on both the influential USASF Board of Directors, the USASF Rules Committee, and was inducted into the USASF Hall of Fame in 2011.  Jody is also coaching 3 CA teams this year!

Jody is the resident nerdy tech guy and occasionally busts out charts, graphs, and statistics to try to put a little "science" into the sport of cheerleading.  He also proudly proclaims to have been a "Mac" guy for 20+ years - long before Apple was cool.  In 2002, he married Ginger (our wonderful part-time assistant that sometimes helps out at the front desk).   His two stepdaughters both cheered for CA for several years.    In addition to geeky stuff, he enjoys cycling (both road and mountain) & has competed in several triathlons.  Birthday:  September 29
